About Sree Mallesh Baba / Patny Baba
Sree Mallesh Baba, also lovingly known as Patny Baba, is regarded by his devotees as a living Avadhoota. According to information shared with the Trust, Baba is associated with the area around Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad.
🕉️ A Living Avadhoota
Baba's way of life is simple, unconventional and deeply rooted in the spiritual understanding of the Avadhoota. Devotees describe his presence, words and actions as distinctive, often carrying meanings that may not be understood immediately.
Devotees regard him as rooted in the Dattatreya Avadhuta tradition, associated with Sri Dattatreya and the Avadhuta path of inner freedom, detachment and spiritual realisation.
❤️ Baba's Unique Bond with His Devotees
At times Baba offers tea to devotees, pours water for them to drink, or pours/sprinkles water over them. Devotees remember these simple gestures as expressions of warmth, closeness and personal attention.
During important or difficult situations, devotees recall occasions when Baba wanted them to remain with him and did not readily allow them to leave even after repeated requests. Devotees interpret such moments as affection, concern and protective care.
🚶 Baba's Walks Through Patny — Why “Patny Baba”
Until the last few years, devotees recall Baba walking from around Ujjaini Mahankali Temple through Patny and nearby localities, stopping at shops, speaking with shopkeepers and people he met. These simple interactions became a distinctive way many people experienced his presence and blessing.
His speech is remembered as unique and sometimes difficult to understand immediately, moving between spiritual references, everyday observations, humour, songs and unexpected statements. Devotees draw devotional comparisons with Sri Dattatreya, Shirdi Sai Nath, Ramireddy Tata of Kallur/Kurnool and Nampally Baba of Hyderabad. These are devotional comparisons, not claims of identical identity or tradition.
🙏 Love, Care and the Fierce Aspect
Devotees speak of Baba's love, affection, care and smile, while also recalling moments when he scolded or raised his voice. Some devotees interpret such moments as a way of confronting attachments, correcting behaviour or helping them face what they understand as karma.
Some devotees recall Baba looking towards the sky or showing an intense Ugram-like aspect, and see echoes of actions traditionally associated with Shirdi Sai Nath. Some devotees reverentially describe Baba as a Paripurna Datta Avatara; this is presented as devotional belief rather than an independently verified classification.
📖 Growing Biography
The Trust will gradually add more approved information about Baba's life, spiritual journey, teachings, places associated with him and devotee recollections.

Recognition from Great Saints
🌼 A Devotee's Recollection — Gopal Baba, Pithapuram
A devotee from Hyderabad used to travel to Pithapuram, Andhra Pradesh, to seek the blessings of Gopal Baba, whom the devotee reveres as a great Datta Avatara.
According to the devotee's recollection, Gopal Baba asked why the devotee was travelling so far and indicated that a Guru was available in Secunderabad, closer to where the devotee lived, encouraging him to go and meet Him.
“Why are you coming this far? There is a Guru in Secunderabad. Go and visit Him.”
The devotee understood this as a reference to Sree Mallesh Baba. This is presented as the devotee's recollection, not as an independently verified statement by Gopal Baba.
🙏 Other Revered Spiritual Figures
Devotees have also shared that they heard words of appreciation or recognition regarding Baba from revered figures such as Seetaram Babaji and Naiduswamy of Kurnool. Fuller wording and context will be added when the respective recollections are provided and reviewed.

Experience 02 — A Journey with Baba: August–September 2024
The devotee first met Baba on 4 August 2024 and returned the following morning at Baba's request. In September 2024, after seeking Baba's permission before leaving, Baba asked him to return the next morning. He then spent several consecutive days with Baba, observing morning rounds, seva, meditation, songs and interactions with people. “Yeh Dosti Hum Nahin Todenge” became especially memorable. The devotee also recalls Baba giving sugarcane juice during a severe headache and noticing stomach discomfort on another day. He describes the period as seva, companionship, patience and learning.
Personal devotee recollection.
Experience 03 — A Remarkable Experience at Two Places
A devotee and his wife were searching for Baba near Swapnalok Complex, Secunderabad when they saw Baba resting near a side wall by the parking area close to the main gate. They watched Him wake and walk towards the opposite side. As He came closer, the devotee recalls that Baba's form appeared to disappear from their sight. Almost at the same time another devotee called and asked where he was. He replied that he was near Swapnalok Complex. The caller said Baba had been sitting near the crackers shop opposite Ujjaini Mahakali Temple for about thirty minutes. The devotee had not told him about the sighting near Swapnalok. The couple remember this as a profound spiritual experience.
Personal recollection and spiritual experience.
Experience 04 — Baba's Reassurance Before a Difficult Surgery
A devotee faced a medical condition involving fluid draining through the nose and consulted more than one doctor without initially finding the confidence he hoped for. According to the devotee's recollection, Baba said that a Punjabi doctor would come to perform the surgery and reassured him, “I will be with you during the surgery.” A friend later referred him to a surgeon whom he regarded as highly suitable. The surgery was successful, and the devotee later learned that the surgeon had obtained a specialisation from a university in Punjab. The devotee remembers the sequence as deeply meaningful and as an expression of Baba's care and reassurance.
Personal recollection. The surgery was performed by qualified medical professionals; this is not presented as a medical claim.
